Hello and welcome! My name is Robyn and I'm a fully trained and experienced dog groomer based in Atherstone. My salon is equipped with everything needed to professionally groom your dog.
The salon is open plan, where the dogs can always see me and you can always see me grooming them. I like to build up a trusting relationship between each individual dog to give them a stress-free experience. Some dogs can become very unhappy confined to a cage. I only us open pens where they can see me and not feel alone. Also no cage dryers- all dogs are hand dried.
My salon is also small, so I can provide a quiet and peaceful area to groom your dog. I've found this is great for older or nervous dogs especially. All dogs are welcome in my salon, regardless of age, size or breed. I have appointments throughout the day and pick up/drop off times can be changed to suit your needs.
I give your dog lots of praise and cuddles, which leads to a happy and calm pet. I try to groom to your wishes, however I will also give advice on what is the best groom for your dogs breed/condition.
I have been training in the animal industry from the minute I finished school. I have worked in many different sectors, from Dairy Farms and Zoos to animal research. However, I have always been happiest when grooming.
I am City and Guilds qualified and hold a Degree in Animal Management. I also hold an Animal First Aid certificate. I pride myself in staying up to date with current grooming products and routines. Therefore, I'm often at seminars, picking up tips and tricks.
I started my own Grooming Parlour from home, called 'Short Bark and Sides' in 2016 and went off in search of a bigger premises when I started to outgrow the small space. I took over 'Scruffy Dogs' on January 1st 2018 and have never looked back! Since then I have had to move premises again (just around the corner) as I had once again outgrown my space.
I currently have two fur-babies; a soppy German Shepherd called Oscar. He will either be sleeping in the salon pen, or at home up to mischief. My newest addition is little Blue, a Miniature Schnauzer I plan to teach agility to. She will be in the salon from time to time too.
I am so lucky that I do a job that I love and I hope that this love passes on to your beloved pet.
